The Greyhound country pub is recognised in Warley and throughout the area as a fine local pub, serving great food, at value for money. Always a warm welcome, with roaring log fires in winter and a large garden for summer months, the freshly prepared food and excellent selection of real ales provides a complete country pub dining experience.
Of the many pubs local to Brentwood, The Greyhound is the ideal place to make the most of our great British weather, rain or shine. Experience one of the most popular pub food menus in Essex and sample one of the immensely satisfying seasonal dishes on offer, together with a glass of fine wine or pint of highly quaffable conditioned real cask ales.
The Greyhound and its huge gardens in rural Brentwood is the ideal destination to be enjoyed by all the family. Food is served all day, every day, from Monday - Saturday till 10pm and Sunday till 9.30pm.
A Little Pub History
The inn was open for business during the First and Second World Wars, and is reputed to have been a haven for German prisoners of war. The soldiers, who were held half a mile away at the Costain compound, used to sneak to the inn where they enjoyed a few drinks before heading back to their camp.
Make a day of it
The Greyhound pub and its huge gardens is a 'drive-out' destination to be enjoyed by the whole family. We are a real country pub in the traditional Essex weatherboard style, tucked away down a quiet lane.
